The Central zone currently has 131 active cases of COVID-19
of Wainwright is now up to five active COVID-19 cases according to Alberta Health Services.
Two more cases were added to the count over the weekend, as the area’s third case was confirmed on Friday.
Wainwright’s first case was reported way back on April 17
That case was soon listed as recovered, .
And Wainwright was free of COVID-19 for three months to follow
But the first of the most recent wave of cases was reported on Tuesday, July 13.
A second case was reported on July 15, .
A third on July 16 and two more in Monday’s Alberta Health Services update
The Central zone has reported 103 new cases in the past week since July 13
The Central zone currently has 131 active cases of COVID-19.
As numbers begin to climb once again, Albertans are being encouraged to stay vigilant to protect their health and the health of others.
Good hygiene is the most important measure to prevent respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19.
Wash your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching your face, cough or sneeze into your elbow or sleeve, and dispose of tissues appropriately.
Wearing masks is not mandatory in Alberta
but it is encouraged for situations where physical distancing is not possible.
